"If I had to change my religious beliefs, I would not marry the person I love. Because the first person that I love is God, who created me, and I have my faith and principles, and this is what makes me who I am. If that person loves me, he should love my God too."

This was Shamcey’s answer to the question raised by American actress Vivica A. Fox during the final question and answer of the Miss Universe Beauty Pageant 2011.

The question was “Would you change your religious beliefs to marry the person you love? Why or why not?"

Critics said that Shamcey lost the crown because of her answer considering that the pageant’s theme centers on unity and brotherhood despite cultural, political and religious differences.

A Conservative Stand?

            Shamcey, owing to her family upbringing brought the religious belief and made her religion to be the center of her life. She strongly loved God first among others.

             The Bible commends this as said in Proverbs 31:20, “Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord she shall be praised.” And this is what makes Shamcey Supsup an admirable character.

Standing Tall Against All Odds

           

            Unlike her contenders, Shamcey answered in the English language without a second thought. Undaunted by the critics, she made her answer sharp and keen, renouncing compromise in marriage. Her answer clearly emphasizes that in every relationship, God must be the central theme that revolves around every man and woman in love. The world needs men and women who have devotion similar to her.

The Triangle of Love

           

           

            In every marriage, God must be the top of the triangle. Notice that when man and woman moved closer to God, they will be closer to each other. However, if they will move away from Him, they will also be drifting away from each other. Thus the key to an intimate relationship is the close relationship with God. One cannot find a perfect partner, but if God is the center his life, then everything will be fine because it is He who supplies the discrepancies.

Shamcey’s answer boldly present the central idea not only in pageant but also in business especially in Multilevel Marketing. However, it has also become a tool for fraud, forgery, and other crimes. These frauds which are popularly known as “scams” rocked the internet world that each one must be aware of.

I have read on an article from the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) which talks about the top ten internet scams. And here the things that we should always bear in mind so that we will not be trapped on the dangers of the internet fraud:

1.   Beware of unsolicited e-mails. If you receive an e-mail from a person you don’t know or from a company you are not involve in or in contact with, do not entertain them.

2.   Beware of phishing sites. These are counterfeit sites that will steal your identity, your bank account number. Use your judgment. Instead of supplying the important information, ask yourself “Why do they need this information?”

3.   Beware of large payments for unskilled tasks. Scammers will send you via e-mail or SMS saying that there is a big business opportunity awaits for you and you need to do is to pay a “little” amount for the legal fees to claim it. And if you do it, they will entangle you to the trap as a result they will suck money from your pocket.

4.   Lottery scams. Messages will appear that you won a large amount of money on lottery together with the contact person and if you will call that person, he will ask for advance payment for the processing fee or any legitimate reason.

5.   Employment scams. A great number of jobseekers have fallen into this trap. They were promised with very attractive compensation and in order to be accepted in the job, they need to pay at Western Union for the processing pay of any other reason.

6.   Beware of disaster-relief scams. When disaster strikes, there are charities who will solicit money for those victims of the calamities. Doing this will only result to running out of cash and the chance of finding a recruit is uncertain. So instead, he must first liquidate his products. And it is to be done? The key here is to tap your warm market. Let your family, friends and relatives use the product (either sell them or just give them) and once they found the results, they start promoting the products to people around them. This will surely generate income!

2.       Phone Bills.  To save on phone bills, you may choose a plan that offers unlimited calls and other services so you can save every time you call your downlines. Also, you may use the resources of the internet like the skype which is very useful especially in long distance calls and consultations with your uplines.

3.        Petrol.  Start qualifying your prospects. Focus on “class A” prospects who have the qualities to succeed on the business. Oftentimes, may networkers have to drive to far places to meet a prospect and after talking to him for few hours you realized that he is not interested. What a waste of your resources!

4.       Leads.  You don’t need to buy leads nor chase them.  Use the principles of attraction marketing to bring unlimited number of leads to your business. You can use offline and online techniques to attract prospects in coming to your business opportunity. Some of these techniques are presented below:

a.       Make it a habit to smile. People are more likely to join to people who are friendly than those who are always frowning.
